Ah Liu, aged 59, suffered a stroke five years ago while working in Langkawi due to excessively long working hours—over 12 hours a day—with inadequate rest. This has resulted in his current mobility impairments.
Ah Liu was transferred from another nursing home, where the fees were initially covered by his brother. However, since his brother’s retirement, he is no longer able to afford the costs, leading to the request for Ah Liu to be admitted to our center.
Initially, Ah Liu was a reclusive individual who avoided social interaction. Upon his arrival at our center, he was unresponsive. However, over time, as he experienced our care and support, he became part of our community, engaging in conversations and reminiscing about the past. He now regularly expresses gratitude to caregivers for their assistance.
